Well, I've been through it a lot ;-) . In addition to all things otherwise taxable, it's a great place to get cheap liquor, especially when you live just over the line in the gulag (er, Pennsylvania.) And the midnight Rocky Horror in Newark is a blast. Oh by the by, Pork Tenderloin and Alice's Restaurant bear not one iota of similarity each to the other -- excepting that is that one's a classic and the other will be if we have anything to say 'bout it. - --- Lori I am Fruvous, hear me roar ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Sep 1998 18:13:22 EDT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: cover tune wish list Ok, this took me a few days of pondering, but: Keep Your Hands to Yourself (Georgia Satellites.) I will continue to do so -- just kidding. If you are a regular or even have a passing interest in the IRC channel, you might want to keep reading this post. If you couldn't care less, then go to the next header.. :) Anyways. Yes, the channel is now two years old. Two fateful Septembers ago, a group of people started meeting on a tiny IRC server. Things happened and led to other things happening, and we now see channel constantly occupied by a few people, with many others dropping in from time to time. Needless to say, after very little overall effort on my part, I'm pleased as punch to see that the channel is a success and is nowhere near sinking the ship Titanic for the next while. SO, I would like to take this opportunity to bow out and let someone else take the reigns. As inquiring minds know, I take every summer off and plan on making this whole shebang a little less important in my life right now, and it wouldn't be fair to have an absentee channel manager. Undernet channel service wouldn't be too happy, and neither would I. Therefor, anyone interested who is able to come out to the channel on Wednesday, September 16, 1998 around 8 p.m. EDT can participate in discussion about who the new channel manager should be. I want to wrap this puppy up before the end of the month, so if ya miss the meeting, then you can email me or snag me one night on IRC. There's a verse : or two that goes along with each section of the movie. I saw it once : (and am planning to see it again soon), it not bad. Ummmmm...no. Sorry, but Alice's Restuarant is a song by Arlo Guthrie (and yes, it is from a movie of the same name), but has nothing to do with Pork Tenderloin. The chorus goes along the lines of "you can get anything you want, at Alice's Restuarant". It is a hugely long song that takes up an entire side of a record (which always amused me as a child!). If you don't believe me, look up the song lyrics at http://www.lyrics.ch The song everyone else is refering to is indeed called "The Hunt for the Dangerous Pork Tenderloin" Their mention of "Alice's Restuarant" at the Mel Lastman show was just random banter - if you listened carefully, they did indeed refer to the song as "the hunt...."
