Hey just wondered if any of you know if Second Story only lets people who are over 21. I'd love to see Moxy Fruvous there in Oct., but I'm only 19. :( (An age in which I've discovered is totally meaningless in Indiana...21 is the age to be here!) The Second Story is a bar and thus 21+. Sorry. My first show last year we haggled as much as we could to get two of my friends in to no avail. If you are close, I'd try anyway, just in case. Or if you can, go to the Champaign show! Aw, come on, you can play basketball at any age! - Chad ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 04 Sep 1998 21:00:45 GMT From: wahrend@my-dejanews.com Subject: Re: Hey IL folks! If you want the new lyrics, I've got them (plus a couple of alternative verses *ha ha!*). Just got back from a WBRS radio show of his. Wonderful stuff! The new Ego isn't in place yet, but I think he's keeping the drummer he was using today, Jesse. Matty Laurence, of yeP!, may end up as the new bassist (just for a bit more synchronicity), if he learns the upright bass. Way cool, that would be. But yes, Kurt and Dylan (the Ego that many Fruheads saw for the first time at the Somerville Theater in March) are doing their own musical projects and not with Jim anymore. > ... yeP! The new album "Don't Get Smart" is due on Eastern Front Records >in September... Get it, got it, good! It's now in my hot little hands. . .well, no, actually in my hot little CD player. Great stuff! "Jumblies," with Jennifer Kimball singing backup, is especially tingly happy. To get totally off topic, I think I'm about 200 messages behind on the newsgroup now. Expect to see a lot less of me around here in the future, guys. For starters, the signal-to-noise ratio has gotten pretty unmanageable over the last couple of months, and it's very difficult to read everything nowadays. For seconders, I've pretty much been wiped off the surface of the earth and can hardly even fumble out email messages to all the people to whom I owe them. Falling madly in love can do that to you. . . ceecee ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 04 Sep 1998 22:08:10 GMT From: ceelove@ibm.net (Colleen Campbell) Subject: Re: NoHo no go? It seems most of the hotels in the area are already booked, but as of Wednesday, Motel Six was not. I can't promise anything now. It's (413) 665-7161, and I booked rooms for several people for $61 plus tax per double. Not the world's nicest accomodations, but hey, you take what you can get. I wouldn't recommend planning on camping that weekend, because it's October in Massachusetts, i.e., very unpredictable weather: it could be snowing. Please don't email me and ask me to help out with booking you rooms at this point. Normally I'd be very glad to help, but frankly, I can't promise that I'm home enough to be of any use to anyone these days, and your email would be in danger of sitting in my box untouched. cee, complete goofball, guilty as charged. .. ------------------------------ Date: 4 Sep 1998 20:58:44 GMT From: Gibbins Christopher <4cg7@qlink.queensu.ca> Subject: Frumiles card misplaced Hi I"ve misplaced by Frumiles card but it didn't have any stamps on it. What I had said was that the FR (from here on in referring to the "Fruvous Republican/Right", whatever that might mean) initally said that it was "too bad" that the gig had a pro-choice basis. I was referring to Josh's post, though I couldn't remember. Then I noted that the FL (Fruvous Liberal/Left) must have since set up some sort of strawman argument, because it seems that many people are saying that the FR feels that Fruvous is "forcing" them to choose, when no one ever said that. End of rant/soapbox speech. Having written this, it kind of looks like I drew a line to split the Fruheads into two separate categories. Well, I didn't mean to. It was just the quickest way to refer to the groups of people. I say we just kill this thread, and unite together as Fruheads, FFC or no FFC. See you at the FruCon, and most of the NY gigs in November :) - --Novac "The only substitute for good manners is fast reflexes." ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #410 ********************************************
