The reason everyone started talking about this was because of a statement that I made. I had thought that the FFC show would be a "donations at the door" type of gig,and thinking that it was this type of show, I had said that I would simply go without paying any money. Having since learned that they are instead selling tickets and thus setting a specific mandatory "donation", I will not attend this concert. Nonetheless, talk still continues on the conservatives who want to "sneak in" to the FFC show :) Also, another misconception is that we "right-of-moderate"s are upset that Fruvous is forcing us to attend a pro-choice show. Ever since the first post on this thread, it was noted that it was "too bad" that they were doing a show that we couldn't attend without supporting the pro-choice movement, and the FruRepublican/FruConservative sentiments have all pretty much been along those lines. I believe that someone of the "left-of-moderate" persuasion set up a straw-man argument along the lines, and everyone has stuck to it :) Da da da... - --Novac "The only substitute for good manners is fast reflexes." ------------------------------ Date: 4 Sep 1998 00:03:05 GMT From: ourhamster@aol.com (OurHamster) Subject: Re: fruvous on WXPN >On the flip side, I'm being reminded of how mind-numbing >commercial radio is.... *drool* I work for commercial radio. Well, that explains a few things... :) (I should have added "...in Baltimore and DC." to the end of that. Sorry about that.) > (If I worked for a non-commercial station, do you think they'd > let me produce commercials anyway?) Probably. On a BIG up note, whoever was working on fixing whatever problem there was, was finally successful late last night, so XPN is back on the air down here. :) - -- chad@ radix.net ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 04 Sep 1998 02:31:16 GMT From: "Summer Young" Subject: Finally!!
