Hope you're wearing your asbestos underwear ;). Nah. I would define a show as the act and its participants. It comes down to a tree falling in the woods, if nobody is around, did it actually fall(yes, but does it really matter)? What is a concert w/o the fans? I've been to several shows and I hardly call dancing at the stage and asking politely for setlists from Cal (after the show), antics. So, you've peaked my curiosity as to what you believe to be a royal pain? Maybe, I was around the civil fru-heads and just took that for granted. Or maybe I just have a high tolerance for goofy fish dances *wink* and a friendly shoulder to lean on. Nothing to fear, I forgot my flame-thrower in my other pants... ;) I don't think any Fruhead would even dare to intentionally ruin anybody else's enjoyment of a Fruvous show, whether that person is a fan or not. That would be rather counter-productive, wouldn't it? Having met a relatively large number of Fruheads (now how the hell did I manage to do that??), I know most of them are considerate, pleasant, people-loving and downright groovy individuals who would sell their own mothers to make someone (*anyone*) feel welcome (unless the said mothers want to see Fruvous themselves, then I guess they'd sell their cousins or somethin'). But I digress. Coming back to the O.F.F., if people behind us or anywhere in the crowd had voiced their disapproval of us standing in the front, I'm sure we would've sat down. But the comment coming from Chopper McKinnon, who so obviously thinks he's some kind of big star, just made every standing Fruhead just a tad annoyed I'm sure. On the other hand, I don't think I'm out of line saying that nobody should get pissed at Fruheads for enjoying their music the way they usually do. It's not like there's an actually mosh pit going on. I think it's a question of mutual respect. We're all looking in the same direction; there's no reason we should be stepping on each other's toes :) (get it?) Peace! - -- Ingrid "I'm 34. I was amazed by how enthusiastically he sang "Alice's Restaurant", considering that he's been doing it for 25+ years. He has a lot of great new stuff, too, and I would *highly* reccomend seeing him if he comes out your way. I'd say it was one of the best shows I saw this summer. I'm sorry, but to me, this argument is a load of poopy. are you suggesting that the crowd is unimportant during the course of a They Might Be Giants concert? I beg to differ. I still think that Severe Tire Damage should not be marketed as a live album. :tape - -- duct tape boy (dtb@class.uml.edu) WJUL : http://www.uml.edu/misc/WJUL/ "someday somebody else besides me will call me by my stage name." - TMBG ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #392 ********************************************
