Hello, I mentioned a few weeks ago that Moxy videos were airing overnight on one of my cable channels. Well, they stopped airing them shortly after I wrote, so I missed taping them (sorry Vika). BUT, I found out that you can order a copy directly from the station for $20. That may be a little steep, considering there are only four Moxy videos on the tape, but there are other bands as well (like the Derailers, who were on Conan O'Brien this week.) BUT! I also found out that there is a whole program about Moxy Fruvous! The producer of the program is going to air it for me in about two weeks. I believe the tape is a Moxy interview/performance at the studios of a local radio station. If anybody is interested in either of these tapes, please e-mail me. - -- chris chris25_ohio at hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: 15 Aug 1998 16:02:56 GMT From: dot0926@aol.com (Dot0926) Subject: Re: Fw: F&F for C (was Re: FruCon II) >nafio@my-dejanews.com wrote: >Here I agree wholeheartedly. Attending a benefit performance is a sign of support for the cause that the performance is to benefit. Those who disagree with the cause are being disrespectful of the event organizers (in this case, of the band) if they choose to attend but not support the cause. Having said that, I'm 100% certain that nobody, and especially Moxy Fruvous, objects to people having different opinions about things that matter. I also think that the band is doing a great thing by doing a benefit for something they care about and inviting us to participate. At the same time, they are mindful of other opinions and provide plenty of opportunity for others to attend their shows that aren't overtly "political." And I'm quite sure that, just as last year, those who choose not to participate in a pro-choice benefit are most welcome to partake in the rest of the activities (which I think also will include some non-benefit performances.) I have to say that I thought it would be longer (13 mins.) , but I loved hearing the Lads interviewed just the same. :-) - -Snow - -- i dig your girlfriend. - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum ------------------------------ Date: 15 Aug 1998 19:46:42 GMT From: snonsumr@aol.com (Snonsumr) Subject: Re: Books for Frutripping? >From: dot0926@aol.com (Dot0926) >Date: Fri, Aug 14, 1998 18:13 EDT >1) anything kerouac, especially desolation angels, the portable jack kerouac >is >a good traveling book see before. have you read the Portable Beat Reader? it has Kerouac, Ginsberg, Burroughs... as well as the "later Beats" (Rexroth, Corso). Bob Dylan) and I'm _still_ trying to make it through Desolation Angels... take the Dharma Bums, instead. - -Snow Snow In Summer (irl Amy Brunner) snonsumr@aol.com or abrunner@bw.edu Simon J Gallup on ISCA one of WNY's newest Fruheads! Actually, it's pretty much the same speed. The length of B's 2nd "Basil...crawfish claaaaw" segment is about 15 seconds, and so is the NPR one. - --Novac "An egoist is a person of low taste, more interested in himself than me." -- Ambrose Bierce ------------------------------ Date: 15 Aug 1998 22:26:22 GMT From: ourhamster@aol.com (OurHamster) Subject: No More OurHamster!!! (A big pardon to those who recieved this message via e-mail as well, but I'm trying to be thorough and not miss any loose ends) Some of you I know quite well, and others I haven't gotten to speak with at all. I'm just writing anyone who I may have contacted, and who might possibly notice my absence on AOL as OurHamster. Well, as some of you know, I was using AOL simply because I had my friend's computer at my house. I was using AOL's trial period to access the web for free during the limited time I had a computer in my house. So, by the 18th, I will no longer have web access through this name. I WILL HAVE ACCESS to AOL through a different AOL name, NovacFreak. I will also use my Instant Messenger name of NovacScott from time to time as well. Feel free to add both of these names to your buddy list. As far as e-mail, you can reach me at KingOfPants@juno.com, jesmore@hotmail.com, or NovacFreak@aol.com Just wanted you all to know... - --Novac ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #304 ********************************************
