The NPR program "All Things Considered" will feature our fine Fruvous lads tomorrow - that's Friday August 14th at 4:30 or 5:30 e.s.t. in Washington. You should call your local NPR station tomorrow morning (they won't know til then) to find out what time it is airing in your town. It'll be a 20 minute feature, and it will be GREAT. Please email or call with questions! It was lovely to see so many familiar (and new!) faces in Toronto over the week-end. I : know it's considered horribly right-wing and all but going to that particular : concert is against my own personal belief system. I enjoyed FruCon last year : but it would have been nice to go to a Frushow afterwards with everyone. As a person who shares the same concerns as you, and who was there last year, don't let it stop you. Not that advocate this or anything *grins*, but it's really easy to sneak in without giving them any money. Since the profits are channeled to abortion clinics and not Fruvous (right?), then you can do this without feeling guilty. And if you do feel guilty, buy a t-shirt or 3, or just give Tobey a wad of money. :) And yes, it's too bad to have an important show that supports a cause that not all fans believe in. But I admire their conviction nonetheless. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Josh Woodward, CheEsy Fru. joshw@mail.bgsu.edu Web Site and Tape List: http://www.dc-adnet.com/joshw/ "Fly Southwest Airlines." -- Moxy Fruvous ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 14:53:45 GMT From: Taryn Chase Subject: Rochester Area Fruheads: ATC Former silent one coming out to say: According to the programming lady at XXI, the NPR show "All Things Considered" will be aired in the Rochester area at 4:00PM today on WXXI--that's 1370 on your AM dial. But for the 1st time ever, i heard Fruvous on the radio. :-) I was driving home from work & was listening to 101.1 (the River) from Niagara Falls. And I heard "Get in the Car." I nearly crashed my car, 'cause I was so excited. Bear in mind that I just moved up to Buffalo from Pittsburgh last week, k? just wanted to share my experience. - -Snow - -- i dig your girlfriend. - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum ------------------------------ Date: 14 Aug 1998 14:49:01 GMT From: joshw@bgnet.bgsu.edu (Josh Woodward) Subject: Re: Canadian customs OurHamster (ourhamster@aol.com) wrote: : Hmm...no surprise that this one came from a *.ca e-mail address! : I don't know...there's just something unappealing about pizza when you go in, : point to the cold piece you want, and they reheat it for you. Wednesdays are for the borderline geeks who don't turn on their computer as soon as they get home from work. The time on Wednesdays encourages people who don't normally have time to sit down with their computer and do some IRCing to make time for it on Wednesdays at 8pm Eastern because that's when many people will be there. The Wednesday time does not say only use the channel at that time. There are people there most all the time. If you have time, check it out. Definitely a good way to keep in touch with Frufriends from all over the place and meet knew Frufriends. Plus the pun-action can take on an almost mystical quality sometimes. - Chad PS *Plug Plug* ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 15:17:51 GMT From: Loren Becker Subject: Re: Fw: F&F for C (was Re: FruCon II) Josh Woodward wrote: > And yes, it's too bad to have an important show that supports a cause > that not all fans believe in.
