It may be a completely valid point but if you continue to expect it to be made this way it could also become a very annoying point. That said, I have crossed the border several times on the Northway (I don't know what the states-side route number is but it turns into Canadian Rt. 15) little hassle. They usually haven't bothered to check my I.D. or that of my companions. On occasion this has included (to answer the impending question) non-whites who have not been hassled either. Okay, enough. These figures are way, way off (too low). Interesting logic, though. That's interesting -- in all the time I've been listening to Moxy, I've never thought they portrayed themselves as liberal. Rabidly anti-conservative, yes. But not actually liberal. :-) - - Blaze: subtle difference, y'know ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Aug 1998 14:50:14 GMT From: gemini@p3.net (Trace) Subject: Re: Returning to DC On Sun, 09 Aug 1998 20:45:27 -0400, Chad Schrock wrote: >ellen p. buckley wrote: >> >> and then at K-o-P, i thought i remember them saying (much to >> my dismay), that they doubted they'd be down this far again >> this year. =/ > >Say it isn't so!!! > >:( I also remember hearing them say that at KoP, and was crushed. Of course, the Philly-Delaware-DC Fruheads could start an email campaign to get them back down here before '99. The lads will be as far south as NYC in November. Then again, maybe a bribe will work better.... The problem is, I won't have anywhere to sleep in that state, unless I'm willing to surprise a friend in Columbus at about 4am Saturday morning... Is there a Fruhead somewhere in that part of Indy that would be willing to provide this Fruhead a place to unroll a sleeping bag on Friday and Saturday night, and possibly a friend or two as well? In exchange, I'm willing to provide free transport to and from the Saturday show in Cincinnati. - - Blaze: doesn't know if this sort of thing is part of the newsgroup charter, but figures it's worth a shot ------------------------------ Date: 10 Aug 1998 15:07:56 GMT From: joshw@bgnet.bgsu.edu (Josh Woodward) Subject: Re: fisher price pain & suffering orphanage KdsInThHal (kdsinthhal@aol.com) wrote: : i heard reference to this last night in toronto at the show and.. *what* : exactly is this/is this from? it's so familiar to me... i just can't place it. : maybe was it, one of the suggested album titles for wood? or do i just have to : listen to all my moxy interview tapes till i find it? ... It was a great show and had many many great things there. I was just recounting the two BAD things about it. Especially our loving waitress and her concept of "I'll be right back" to bring roB! his beer. But that show had lotsa great memories too. Driving all the way out there and trying to find someone named Zard who has your ticket. Fortunately, the first person I asked "Zard?" to was actually Zard, so no embarassment here *grin*. Hockey Night in Canada theme. Tunnel song. Jaymz Bee. Not to mention the bass stylings of Laura Love. Woo-hoo. Yay Birchmere. My neighbor, who has heard Fruvous everytime she is in my car, was at the King Of Prussia mall a few weeks before the KoP concert and heard a familiar song playing in Ambercrombie and Fitch ( a very expensive version of the Gap, if you can imagine) It took her a few minutes before she realized she was hearing "Get in the Car" According to her, she cried out "It's Moxy Fruvous!" to her shopping companion and garnered some weird looks. Anyway, she told me as soon as she got home, and I was delighted. It made me like A&F a little more, perhaps they have good taste after all. ~Joni, first time newsgroup poster. ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #268 ********************************************
