It certainly wasn't enough to keep out the Scottish fogs.... He was at Philly Folk last year, holding the same stick (;-)) and wearing a similar "outfit". And it's nice to be welcomed and accepted. What a cool bunch of people. Inspired by the boys in the band, no doubt. I have to make one other comment: at Sunday's show, I finally acquired copies of Bargainville and Wood -- and yesterday when I got home from work feeling depressed and downtrodden ("I Love My Boss!" yeah!) I couldn't wait to crank up my cd player and get cheered up. And it worked! One question from a relatively new fru (nufru?) -- I was listening to "Laika" last night, and they definitely did not play it on Sunday at KofP - -- so what _is_ that song about Rush Limbaugh? and have they recorded it? And what does "Laika" mean? Sorry if I'm being thick -- I know someone will straighten me out -- er, um, I mean, provide me with correct information! ;) Thanks! - -amy- (now officially thinking of myself as Auntie Fru, because I can't wait to bring my 6-month-old niece to a show!) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Aug 1998 15:40:56 GMT From: gemini@p3.net (Trace) Subject: Re: Canadian Customs On Thu, 06 Aug 1998 09:45:05 -0400, Frank Mattheus wrote: >Is that song only used in Canada? Strangely, here in the Philly area (I dunno about elsewhere) we have sweet/tart candy that come packaged in a roll of celophane and are called "Smarties." I was amused when I realized that when I'd talked about "Smarties" with my Canadian boyfriend, we were talking about two completely different things.
