My husband, btw, guiltily admitted that he enjoyed himself, and he's planning to come to one of the Iron Horse shows in October. Woo-hoo! Jude said that the shows would most likely be scheduled for November. They're probably not confirmed well enough to post publically. I'm sure they'll find a place in Buffalo at least once, if not twice in November. - --Novac "If you don't believe me, you can ring my doorbell and smell my toilet." --Television Commercial ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Aug 1998 13:11:15 GMT From: ceelove@ibm.net (Colleen Campbell) Subject: Re: Frustock aka KoP show review (really long) On 3 Aug 1998 05:37:08 GMT, rvenkate@spiketrain.npa.uiuc.edu (Kumar Venkateswar) wrote: >(something like Let's Play to the Chief?) I loved the bagpipes so much as a kid that my father spent the month before my 13th birthday combing the city for a used set to give me. He found some, but even used, they were very expensive. He also found out how much lessons cost. I never got the pipes... I still love the sound and expressiveness of bagpipes, and have recently discovered there are other instruments that use the bag as their source of wind. Can anybody recommend a good starter CD for me? I'd like to learn and hear more of this instrument family. Folks around here are so durned obedient -" the house says "lights on" so the show must be over," they say to themselves... After the Port Chester show last year where the stage folks tore down the set--up immediately after a short set (3 bands that night), Fruheads kept clapping and yelling very loudly for I'd say a full 5 minutes. Eventually, since the stage hands wouldn't let the boys back up on stage, they came out onto the dance floor and did "Boss" off mike, just for us, because we wanted an encore so badly. I was sincerely touched - it was one of the nicest things I've ever seen. ME!!!! of all people in the crowd, they have to pick me. ok ok, i admit, the pink hair may have had something to do with it, but my hairs been this way for going on 3 years, so i didnt think theyd really notice. but they did, and i swear i thought i would fall over! and since my right ankle was sprained from the tmbg show the day before, i did almost fall over! but thats besides the point...it took me a couple seconds to even realize it was me they were talking about! and when i got up on stage i almost forgot my freekin name! boy was i a mess! but thats to be expected when you first meet someone youve only seen in dreams and they ask you to introduce them. im just glad i said "moxy fruvous" because i almost said "they might be giants" :) oh well, please dont think im a nerd, usually im on the other end of the shy scale, but when it comes to meeting MF for the first time, well, you saw me at the show, and if you didnt, i think you get the idea. but thats all besides the point...MF kicked major ass [can i say that on here?] and ill definately be back for more! see you in october, i think youll recognise me, so come up and say hi....im not as lame as i let on onstage! melissa ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #189 ********************************************
