Don't get me wrong - I'm THRILLED to be going to Owen Sound (and seeing the Arrogant Worms!), but I'm eternally bummed that I won't be around for the crowds of Fruheads decending on Toronto and Burke's Falls. Bill and Starfox, you'll just have to make it up for the Iron Horse over Halloween so I can meet you all!! And I'll hopefully catch the rest of you sooner than that even.. I'm tempted to say that the lads are usually on Fru Standard Time, that being about 40 minutes behind the rest of the world, on average. But, in my experience, every time I've counted on them starting late, they go on right on time. I'm thinking this is a fairly together outside venue, and should start pretty close to 7pm, just because they do this all summer. I emailed for directions today, and got them within 15 minutes, and the guy said "come early" but I didn't find out why - traffic, good seats, what... And, lastly, I'm sorry I can't offer you a place to stay, 'cause I'll be blowing out right after the show to head home to the DC area. Hope to see you there! I PROMISE, really promise, to try to remember to wear my ammf button so you can find me! - -Zard "Veni, Vidi, Velcro" - I came, I saw, I stuck around. ------------------------------ Date: 28 Jul 1998 04:08:09 GMT From: ourhamster@aol.com (OurHamster) Subject: Glom a Ride (aka Get in the Car) At present, I attend Frushows in Central & Western NY (Syracuse, Oswego, Rochester, Buffalo, NiFalls...and Utica, though I haven't been there for a con yet), but I'd like to make it to other shows, too. If anyone from any of these locals (upstate NYish) is EVER *driving* to a Frushow, please let me know...I'll be willing to get myself to your area (unless you're driving through Syracuse), and I'll be willing to split gas cost, of course. Well, at one TLA show when the album was first out, Dave was plying the wares onstage, and was showing us the possibilities of the refold mistakes. I think it was just them wanting to put a little interactivity into the liner - you could end up with a different message than you started with! Either by accident or on purpose. And of course then your color scheme would change, too. You can fold your CD to match your living room, or depending on if you're a "summer" or a "winter" or whatever. I find it very hard to >believe that there would be any song where one member of the band does >absolutely nothing... is this credit correct? Hmmm... At this point, I never assume that their liner notes are correct (MIT is listed as the wrong MONTH, for gosh sakes!), but this one could be. I was thinking of a reasoning for it, and came up with the idea that since Lee is just Dave and his piano, maybe he had to sit out a turn, and that turn was Sahara... Very fair, those boys... *big plug to hear Lee live, just once, all the way through, with piano* - -Zard "Veni, Vidi, Velcro" - I came, I saw, I stuck around. ------------------------------ Date: 28 Jul 1998 05:20:07 GMT From: zardsnod@aol.com (ZardSnod) Subject: Re: Moxy in `Discount Bin` Novac wrote: >My God, at first I thought you had written that you found the INDIE TAPE in >the >$2.88 discount bin! Hee!! I've never been to Oswego, but from hearing a tape of the '96 show, I had to laugh. At one point there was so much engine revving that Mike quipped "This show was brought to you by Evinrude".
