I can see it going both ways. I can see him retreating from the spotlight and loosing that focus. At the same time, I can see him using his talent as an outlet for his emotions. I hope he chooses the latter, because, while it might sound a littel ghoulish, I would love to hear what he would have to say on the whole subject of love and true loss. I draw people mostly (though folks are telling me do draw more kinds of things so I can get into an art college) & make weird little ceramic creatures & don't paint a lick (that's another thing people keep telling me I have to learn to further myself). I love to read mysteries, science fiction, comics (Cerebus, Strangers in Paradise, The Maxx, stuff by Peter David, old Spirits) & just good books (I always scream for rather going to bed with Gabriel Garcia Marquez). I like writing in my journal (even though I don't have one right now) & to friends (even though I'm behind on that as well) & to newsgroups (well, just one & just recently). I also like watching movies & my Israeli twin two-year-old charges & swinging on swingsets, but I don't think those can be construed as talents so I'll just quit while I'm behind..... The very near future of Rush is that they are prepping a 3 CD live set for fall release. Two CDs from their most recent tours for Counterparts and Test For Echo and a third disc from the Farewell to Kings tour. After that, I would expect them to continue recording. There have been no rumblings about an end to Rush because of Neal's recent tragedies. Gordon For lack of a better signature, I offer you my heartfelt thanks for making it all the way to the end of my post. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind stay at your back. I've finally gone to the trouble of actually setting up my news, but we'll see if I can actually post... Hi everyone :) Could you all please check your bootleg collections to try and help me track down a specific performance? I'm looking for a version of King of Spain (probably done quite a while ago, I'm waiting for a date) where the frulads made a reference to Nat Gertler? Help me prove that fru-dom really is that organized... First, to clarify: When I used the word "government" - I meant it in the most general of terms...as in any group and/or persons who represent the public opinion. I suppose I should have used a different term. Anyway, in an effort to answer your questions, Chrissy, I did a little research. There was only one bill that has ever become law regarding the "Parental Advisory" stickers and it was later denounced as unconstitutional. However, there have been many bills which have come (uncomfortably) close to passing into legislation...including one in Texas which was "riding" on the back of another bill. Any labels applied to works at this point are purely voluntary under the guidelines set by the Recording Industry Association of America. Perhaps I am nieve in that I have faith in the American public to stand up for their rights and avidly retaliate when such legislation comes even remotely close to being passed into law. It is scarey to see how close it has already come. I found a synopsis of the situation on the ACLU site: http://www.aclu.org/library/pbr3.html Always, - Maige ;P - -- *************************************** "To be different is to suffer at the hands of the normal."
