While I didn't much care for her latest CD, she's an *amazing* live performer. Go. Go go go. If you find her first major label CD, _The Last of the Good Straight Girls_, it's definitely worth picking up. I think it's out of print, as it wasn't released on Bottom Line Records, but it was pretty much my favorite disc last year. - --Amanda Paper covers Rock. Scissors cut Paper. At the Rochester show there was an anouncement before the show asking people to please refrain from using flash photography. Several people took flash pictures anyway, and then Jian asked the audience to please stop. Even after that people kept using flashes. This annoyed the hell out of me to the point where I went patrolling for the flash user positioned somewhere behind me with the intention of insisting that they stop or I would take the camera away and give it to Tobey till after the show. I didn't find him/her (to my husband's relief). Why would anyone who likes the band enough to come out and pay for a show choose to ignore their request and annoy them like that? Of course, this was the show that someone chucked a broken battery at Jian and cut him... I feel bad that Lynne had a bad experience with Früfan(s), in general this is a very friendly ng and people tend to have a lot of respect for each other. The Gulf War Song will definitely have to get some play tomorrow, at least on my CD player. Any other good Remembrance Day songs? Hmm, maybe I'll mix in "Give Peace a Chance" and "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" by John Lennon. Oh, and "Fortunate Son" by CCR. And "Ohio" by CSNY. Heck, if I can find all the songs about Vietnam, I'll be set. (Ironically a friend and I were singing that outside The Vault last night while waiting on line, much to the chagrin of anyone near us, I'm sure) ... By the way, I have to say that "losing my fruginity" surpassed all expectations ... I'd say my only regret was not getting to hear the much-talked-about "I Will Hold On," but hearing "Gulf War" off-mic more than made up for that. I particularly want to thank Rodney, Autumn and Wendy for taking me into their "fru-family" fold (stage Mike) as well as the woman next to me whose name I didn't catch (cute, petite, long wavy red hair, whose car was parked next to mine in the lot down the street and broken into) ... Hope to be at the Bottom Line Jan. 1 with my daughter, if it's the under-21 show (she will be the 8-year-old with the "I Love Canadian Boys" shirt who knows all the lyrics).
