Wow! the movie is called Stop Making Sense and it comes from the Speaking in Tongues tour. It was directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Something Wild) and is very excellent. It is long out of print on video and usually sells for around $40 or so now, but as luck would have it, I just found it an hour ago (before reading the posts about it) at the used video store for $7.99 (for some reason they didn't have it on the rare and expensive shelf). Don't you just love coincidences?? So if anyone has a nice home theater system, I'd be glad to bring the tape around for viewing and/or copying (its out of print - who we gonna hurt?) Gordon For lack of a better signature, I offer you my heartfelt thanks for making it all the way to the end of my post. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind stay at your back. May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Jul 1998 02:55:50 GMT From: auditions@davincisnotebook.com (Da Vinci's Notebook) Subject: Re: That DaVinci's Notebook band in NYC On Thu, 09 Jul 1998 12:35:53 -0500, Chad Maloney said: >GoodOmenz wrote: >> i was just flipping thru the paper trying to get up the nerve to call someone >> about a job and i saw a familiar name- >> DeVinci's [sic] Notebook >> The Bitter End >> Saturday July 11th >> did they have somethin' to do with the mighty fruvous or am i making it all up? >> dunno if theres an age policy. doubt i'll go but its still pretty cool > >DVN is a great acapella group from around DC (I think - that's a guess >though). It will indeed be pretty cool, and I'll be personally offended if you don't come. (I had to include them when I originally did this as a class project, then when I cleaned house last night and ditched project.css, I hadn't yet taken out the tags....)
