Sorry, in case you were looking for verification of this, their web page lists the member benefits as these: Free Admission for members and their one guest on Friday night. Members can meet the artists and get autographs in the special member area XPN members get unlimited access all weekend to the members only area, including free refreshments. Of course if you are just referring to Fruvous, I'm sure they'll be more than willing to meet all the fans after the show... not just the people who've given money to WXPN. jordan - -- B: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering? What is weird, I ordered a copy of "Live Noise" a couple of months ago from CD Now and it arrived without a warning sticker on it. I just got another copy today (gift for a friend :) from CD Now, and it had a warning sticker on it. chad ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Jul 1998 23:31:28 GMT From: beetleschka@my-dejanews.com Subject: Re: Fruvous in England? This is in order of appearance, as published in the WXPN Member's Newsletter (that I just got today). Friday: (gate at 6, show at 7) Bela Fleck and the Flecktones hosted by David Dye Saturday: (gate at 1, show at 3) Marah Olu Darah Southern Culture on the Skids Huffamoose Lucinda Williams Sunday: (gate at 1, show at 3) Mary Arden Collins Patty Griffin Moxy Fruvous Francis Dunnery What they said about Moxy Fruvous: The ever undefinable music of Moxy Fruvous will have everyone, not just the Fruheads, dancing along at this year's Singer- Songwriter Weekend. Their most recent CD, "You Will Go To the Moon," features the entirely too catchy, "Michigan Militia" and that wonderfully campy remake of the BeeGees' "I've Gotta Get a Message To You." The canadian natives released their first album on a self-titled cassette in 1992 which went gold in Canada. Since then they have been charming audiences throughout the US and Canada with extensive touring to highlight their live act. More details, from: http://xpn.org/ I'll definately be at Sunday's show and most likely be there on Friday as well. See you all there! :) chad ^ | +-- I'm lower case, so we won't get confused. :) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Jul 1998 02:27:12 GMT From: Ann Marie Wierzbicki Subject: Help! Please! Veek and I got our First Annual Frucon t-shirts in the mail today ("That's Any Good!") and we unwrapped them well-nigh reverentially, they were so beautiful and so classily done up. Brent and Marianne, thank you and congratulations, you totally impressed us both by going that extra "frumile." The address label and sticker and writeup and instructions were all marvelous touches. And what a great thing to return home to, after a big open-air BNL concert with some (police estimated) 40,000 other silly Bostonians. .. ceecee ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Jul 1998 02:10:29 GMT From: beetleschka@my-dejanews.com Subject: my latest moxy fruvous dream Last night (no it was this morning. Why do people say last night?) I dreamt that finally, Moxy Fruvous was coming to play at my school (my school is sixty persons large, so by dream logic it was a natural venue for Fruvous). I brought everyone that I've been burning to drag to shows, like my English teacher & my friend Florence (who actually *did* come to a show once but we weren't let in & it was a very bad experience & she hasn't agreed to go since...sad story) & we were all gathered when the band started playing &... There was no Murray. There was this tall blond chick & it was terrible. It wasn't so bad when only she sang because really she didn't have a bad voice, but when they tried to harmonize it was godAWFUL. Particularly "No No Raja". I left during that one. After every few songs they'd take a long break & I just started going on these & not coming back, I was so despondent. I felt so bad about taking my teacher & my friend to this concert which wasn't any good. I wanted to complain & say that I hated this lady & I wanted Murray back but I'm a fruhead & fruheads are nice.... I woke up this morning & thanked God for Murray.
