I've seen Fruvous in England on two occasions. The first was about 3 years ago at The Robin Hood R'n'B Club in Brierley Hill, West Midlands - they were supporting a local R'n'B band who they had played with in the past. I was blown away by their Spiderman cover. The following year they returned as a headline act and I was back again. The club's Jukebox is full of Fruvous albums and oft' times can the gentle sounds be heard. They were due back again last year, the tickets were printed - I saw them but I was never allowed to buy one 'cos no-one could confirm they would be coming, and they didn't. I haven't seen them since although they occasionally send me their newsletter which is way out of date. If anyone has contact with them, let them know there are half a dozen of us in the UK who'd turn up and see them - hey, our band would even support them which would add another 3-4 to the audience. (Seriously, Fruvous would pack out the Robin Hood) Ian HearTunguska at http://users.powernet.co.uk/cool/tunguska.html jdevlin wrote in message ... > >Does anyone know whether the band ever tours in England? Hey, you think no one over here would travel across the ocean to see Früvous? We can raise that dozen. ladywench (who would love an excuse to travel back to England) FruSpace - We came, we saw, we slept on the floor . . . ------------------------------ Date: 5 Jul 1998 16:06:06 GMT From: fruwench@aol.com (FruWench) Subject: Re: Good Omens, Pratchett, etc. (off-topic) Me too! Me too! I loved Good Omens. If you are interested in a more serious version, Donald L Westlake wrote a book called "Humans". "Humans" is written from the point of view of Ananayel, the angel God sends to destroy the human race because He has decided he made a mistake and erred in creating mankind. Not light and humuorous like Good Omens, but intense and kinda dark. Very good book. ladywench FruSpace - We came, we saw, we slept on the floor . . . ------------------------------ Date: 5 Jul 1998 20:04:59 GMT From: BEQS26C@prodigy.com (Brian Nicholson) Subject: 7/12 show is anyone here gonna' be at the penn's landing show next week? what other bands are gonna' be there besides Fruvous? But that doesn't mean doesn't mean it still wasnt' the flattest state--I can recall one day of biking when I could think (in my state of exhaustion) nothing more profound than "you could roll a quarter across this state." That, of course, is southern Florida, where the largest geographical aberration is manmade: the landfill. ceecee ------------------------------ Date: 5 Jul 1998 17:12:12 -0400 From: gajarsky@pilot.njin.net (gajarsky@pilot.njin.net) Subject: CONSUMABLE ONLINE Issue #147 contents. I would highly recommend Friday night's concert with Bela Fleck. That man can make a banjo into anything he wants, and everything you've never heard.
