About half an hour later, Andi from Buffalo and her crew showed up. The crew went off in search of food, and Andi and I chatted for a bit before settling down and pulling out our books.... We were both reading Good Omens. Mine was the tattered, read-it-six-times-already copy, and Andi was loving her first time through the book. I also brought the Colour of Magic graphic novel as a backup. This isn't really Fruvous-related, although I am a huuuuuggggeeee fan of the group and have been for many years. This is a post to invite anyone in the vicinity of Toronto, and specificially the Laugh Resort on Lombard St., to come to a special comedy taping on July 8th that my company, www.ComedyNet.com , will be producing. There will be 8 comedians and a host and these performances will be webcast over the internet on ComedyNet a few days after the event. Please call the club at 416-364-5233 and reserve tickets for this special evening. Oh, there are lots, I am a half fan, and I have a friend who gets every discworld book mailed to her in hardcover in England so that she gets it fast! I like the Discworld series, but my personal fav would definatly have to Good Omens. On another note, has anyone read anything else by Neil Gaiman? The sandman comics are basically great books, with lots of pictures :) /me tries to think of an On topic topic that would also relate to this topic... Ahhh! An idea... lets try to pester (ok, not pester), Terry Pratchett to let fruvous appear in a DiscWorld novel, I think they would fit right in! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 Jul 1998 19:51:31 -0400 From: Victorria Bonnie Johnson Subject: Re: Pisco Bandito AND to top it all off, Ray Davies is rumored to be writing a MUSICAL based on the song "Come Dancing" over in London. This same Ray wrote a musical called "80 Days" (based on the Verne novel) which was directed in La Jolla, California, in 1989 by a fabulous dude named Des McAnuff. The same Des McAnuff that caught the Moxy Fruvous show at the Bowery Ballroom last week! How's that for a round-about coincidence (or not)? I'm wondering if anyone who'd be at both the Thunder Bay and Toronto shows would be interested in giving me a drive to TO? I'm capable of paying a good portion of gas money and offering much gratitude. :-) Right now I've got myself down to fly standby, which is good if I can get it, but bad if I arrive on the very last flight. While I'm at it, anyone have a recommendation about someplace to stay in Toronto overnight?
