I'm one of the least internet-savvy people I know, and also quite busy. I'm assuming I speak for a fair number of those who don't have tons of disposable time in saying that it's just about all I can do to keep up with one medium and one band. So, my opinion is that everything gets diluted if we have too many different fora in which to discuss things Fruvous. If folks get used to following one certain medium (she'll have to tell too many horoscopes.. *yuk,yuk*...) then we'll be able to have centralized info. sharing and discussion groups, and we won't fraction off. If there was discussion of cliques before, imagine how it would be if we all started saying "well, I follow so-and-so's mailing list" or whatever. Then it would become certain groups who get certain info. and others learning and discussing other things. I think having a centralized forum helps us to all blend, merge, share, and be more unified, as well as adding more diverse voices to the whole soup. Let's keep things as they are - we have FDC, IRC, and here, as well as the new mail<>newsgroup system. Static, bulletin-like, and instantaneous. Like" who has had, will have, and will have had an employer?" We're covering all the tenses! If anybody starts splinter groups, I'm afraid it'll just draw interest away from the main forum, and we'll have a very quiet ng, just like we did last winter when they weren't touring. And I'll be sad.... :-( If you have something specificly individual which you want to contribute about Fruvous, your own personal webpage seems to be the way to go. We know that a number of folks have these to say what they want to about the band, but having those doesn't pull anyone's attention away from all of us who use the other media. Anyway, enough late-night rambling for me. I just hope that HERE stays lively and accessible to all (all who have computer access, at least...). - -Zard "...And I'll stay off Verlaine too; he was always chasing Rimbauds." - Dorothy Parker, "The Little Hours" ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 09:02:14 -0500 From: "val and dan" Subject: Re: Ramshead Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8:30 (I think there's an opener?). I've been to Ramshead before and they serve food and drink (microbrews, etc.) to your table. Prices are a bit high but I guess it helps pay the bills and keeps the place open. Really great place to see a show and an excellent sound system. Also, there's a restaurant and bar attached to the club in case you arrive early and care to partake. It can be very hard finding parking in Annapolis, so call the club and ask them where to park. Park in a specific lot, get your parking stub stamped at the club, and it's free parking (or at least discounted). At least, that's the way it was a couple months ago. BTW, I'm at table 100. "hey little bird, your house is on fire" . bj don't cry . "davo's people" - some people screamed "murray's people" so murray : "hello my children...the revelation is still 1 1/2 years away" (who was standing on the other side of the room (who by location, would have been dave's people :)) which turns into this reggae with a little red red wine thrown in. "these are of course songs from our new album 'interband sectarianism'" "we can compare jian's drumming to what happened in east timor..." . horseshoes . comments about how although the songs from live noise were from ny, they substituted in the philly audience...hee. . mike as the quintessential 80's bass player w/ SOUL! "joni did it and we all bought it. the difference is that joni's poetry is good." ... "i think it has something to do with the fact that our tits aren't as nice" (i think dave) "i think you just crossed the line, that was very offensive, and i think my tits are nicer than yours" (i think this was murray!) so here's the tits song transcribed for you :) have you seen the tits on shirley? they don't compare to the ones on jian when he went to the beach real early everyone said those tits are really great yeah yeah, the tits on him tits like a bull or a moose yeah yeah, the tits on him and what a nice caboose :) . a new song: "so i will hold on, and if that's not what you're used to baby how could i refuse you.." . ballad of marion fruvous ("and the rangers won't make it with richter in net" (no comment... especially since i'm a devils fan. still. yep. :) and the thenardier song from les misrables :)!! . that was a rare fruvous song into i'm my only friend i'm just my only friend, you're just a little glowing friend ;) . michigan militia . johnny saucep'n . i gotta get a message to you (wow, this was really cool! . king of spain "we are so sick and tired of having that woman's face on our money" (it took forever for dave to get on stage because of this huge hilarious therapy session before the song :) "i'm finding that, um, it's really hard to perform. excuse me? i just feel like there isn't a real consensus, that we're not operating as a collective, and i'm feeling very alone right now."
