The From: header is a sacred cow to tin, so changing that in editing the message won't work. Believe it or not, as often as I try a new newsreader, I always come back to tin. I can access it from any internet-capable computer, I can set it up to suit my needs (and fairly easily, to boot, just edit your tinrc file), and it's just easy to use.
