I too have a tape I can share, straight off the cable (CBC 1 *& 2* are on the radio part of cable-tv, I don't know if they do that in the states) which I then taped on my VCR (see my other post on the "Fruvous on DNTO" thread) so the quality is excellent. Of course its only mono and they seemed to have trouble in the beginning getting the levels right ( the first song was Got to get a Message so the levels got set way too high and the start of the next song is *way* distorted ) So if anyone needs, I got. - -- Arbie "Brassman" on irc Reply address altered to discourage spammers, sorry for the inconvenience. I'll HMV and Virgin in Oxford, failing that, I'll have have to ask one of my friends in the US to get it. Funny story. I didn't know a thing about the housemartins, I was listening to BNL and decided I would introduce them to my older sister (shes tres cool and is always on the lookout for good music). She heard the Happy Hour lyrics and was like, "hey, thats the housemartins". After some confusion she busted out london 0 hull 4 and after that I was jamming. Too bad that is the only CD of theirs that I have, I need the 2 disc set but as with all the music that I like, I never have enough fundage to support my addiction. Jian says that it was in 1994 (I asked 'em to go to Dallas and he mentioned this tidbit with the "where were you then?" ;-), I replyed proudly "Buffalo"). Another fan said that it was in '96. Either way, I wasn't here yet.. "wild" Bill - ----- "What the hell did you expect to find, aphrodite on a barstool by your side?" I don't think it was a matter of them becoming the Beautiful South; they're two distinct groups, with rather different approaches to music, though there's quite a bit of social commentary and satire to both. The only member the two have in common is Paul/P.D Heaton. The Beautiful South has gone through some member changes, too--there've been at least two different women singing with them. ceecee ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #17 *******************************************
