The Moth stages gatherings of people with interesting stories, using grouping them around a theme, and each storyteller has ten minutes to share his/her tale. The story Thomas told is one that will be familiar to members of the old Flat Earth Society website - about his visit to Michael Jackson's home in Encino, California. However, the tale, as Thomas told it for The Moth, has some lovely bits I hadn't heard before, including inspiring words from Jackson about music. This morning, a link to the audio of TMDR's Moth story popped up on YouTube. No video of Thomas telling the story, but I think you'll appreciate it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sk1c9N3ZuM BTW, this story - along with 11 others - is available on The Moth's double CD "The Best Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll Stories: http://store.themoth.org/products/the-best-sex-drugs-and-rock-and-roll-stories-double-cd Hope you are all well.
