Go figure. It's good to hear that you still dig Alloy, Russ. I have to be honest and say that, in recent months, I'd considered shutting it down. I've gotten e-mails from a handful of old members who felt the list was irrelevant now in light of the official forum and others from folks who just don't read anything from the list anymore (and had no idea there was new music on the horizon or that there had been tours.) Or folks wait six months to read any of it. Someone who was a key member of the group for many years actually quit Alloy in a huff this year because he was pissed off I mentioned his hometown on the t-shirt. This because he never read any Alloy posts - despite my repeated efforts to get the word out. Frankly, it was disheartening, since I was really trying to keep things alive, and I thought the t-shirt would be something fun. Truthfully, things have been very, very, very crappy for me recently - and got crappier yesterday, by a mile - and I just didn't know, along with the real life stuff happening, if it was worth me continuing this (and dealing with the sea of annoying spam that comes along with list administration.) But knowing that there are a few folks who still appreciate it makes me feel a little better about not pulling life support from the list. Sorry if I seem much less upbeat that usual. It's a bad week, and I think my mental filter is shut off for a while. MJ - -- "Success is not a function of individual talent. While 99.995% of the time, I'm just a lurker, I read each and every post on the list, and for me, it's my favorite source of Dolby information. The forums and blog are nice and all, but when my life gets all harried, work gets crazy, and I can't find my tubes, wires, or careful notes, I rely on the mailing list to keep me attached to the world of TMDR. Perhaps for some, it's an antiquated notion, but I find the little tidbits from the list that pop up in my 'Alloy' folder to be informative and comforting. - - LM Tim Dunn wrote: > Keep the faith M, we're still with you! > > the_copse ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2008 08:26:39 -0500 From: "registrations@nonfatcat.com" Subject: Re: Alloy: TMDR Christens Studio Boat I got it, I was just quiet about it (though I did promptly go and read the post, which I wouldn't have known about had it not been for your message).
