(I think he should as well.) As a remixer - I TOTALLY agree with your assessment - although there was one particularly bad-ass remix of Level 42's "The Sun Goes Down" that went on for most of 8 or 9 minutes, and knocked my socks off beginning to end. Obviously, some are better than others. I know Thomas isn't a big dance remix guy, but I would kill or die to get a chance to remix a track or two from the new record - maybe I could come up with something that wouldn't offend him much. Like I said, I'm not big on stretcho-extendo mixes that bear no resemblance to the original track whatsoever. If anyone is interested to hear them, I remixed two tunes for Project Parallel (half of which is my buddy Silas Hite - nephew of Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh.) Their MySpace site is: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm? fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=92536266 and the remixes are available on iTunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum? id=259158082&s=143441 I did both remixes of "The Distance" Fun stuff! jm On Sep 13, 2008, at 9:13 AM, Merujo wrote: > > On Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 9:06 AM, Tim Dunn wrote: > >> >> That's really true. As someone quoted his words, "put them in you iPod and make your own running order." Thomas has the final say. I'm just a loyal follower and would accept how he wants it to be. As for his blog, I haven't seen it yet. Is it on his web site? I thought maybe any updates would be posted here as well by Thomas. But I'm glad certain alloy members, you know who you are, rose to the occasion and updated me of this. (Along with his progress of recording new material. I wasn't sure Thomas was actually working on something. I thought it was still a rumour since this was mentioned sometime ago on alloy) As for my list of 7 items that I would like to see from Thomas be rereleased is just that. A wish list. All of it being released would be nice to see but not all at once. Thomas is a great musician and having this material finally see the light of day would be a wonderful gift to all of us die-hard Dolby followers that been following him since he broke into the charts, here in the U.S., some 25+ years ago. Keep me posted on any updates. I'm counting down the days and saving my pennies now. Oh, one last request. How about another tour to support the reissues and introduce the new material? I would like to see him live one day.. Walter ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V12 #254 ****************************
