It's been a tough few weeks, but here's hoping for some better ones ahead, eh? Mary Brown recently asked about the Sputnik song (very kind of you to ask, Mary!) and whether or not it had been given a title. Well, unless Thomas opts to change it, the title of the song is "Puls Kosmosa" ("Pulse of the Cosmos") - it works nicely in both Russian and English (hooray for cognates!) As I understand it, Bruce Woolley and his talented cohorts in the Radio Science Orchestra performed the song again at the release party for their recent recording. Cool, huh? I'm glad someone else spotted that Prefab Sprout tidbit! Wouldn't it be nice if there was to be some new collaboration on that front? Who knows what the future might hold. BTW, for those who don't visit Thomas' blog on a regular basis, there are a handful of newish entries, including a couple of fresh clips from TED, with some fun music, including another Dan Hicks song. I'm writing this with no eyeglasses on, so I apologize for any typos. My funky eye is thumping, so I'm flyin' blind tonight. If I've tapped out anything embarrassingly wrong, you have carte blanche to point and laugh. Cheers from rainy suburbia, Melissa - -- "If there's any message to my work, it is ultimately that it's OK to be different, that it's good to be different, that we should question ourselves before we pass judgment on someone who looks different, behaves different, talks different, is a different color." -- Johnny Depp ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Jun 2008 21:19:04 -0700 From: John McJunkin Subject: Re: Alloy: Back (if a little unsteady) in the saddle again Glad you're back up from the murky depths, Melissa!
