This fascinating item just popped up on my Google alert! News about how and where TMDR's new album will be created: http://blog.emusician.com/the_bus/2007/08/23/dolby-to-record-off-the-grid/ I like the thought of a music hut. :) And I like the thought of a sailboat studio even more! That is incredible! I can't wait to hear what sort of music comes from such a creative way to record. Thanks for sharing Melissa! Both the sheer novelty of location and the use of sustainable energy to power creativity. I saw that this will be online! So cool! Of course, I'll be in a meeting with an ill-tempered book editor when it's broadcast on Monday, so I'll have to wait until it goes up in the archives. This was filmed at the first of the two Chicago HOB gigs where, I understand, some in the crowd were a little unruly (to each other.) Maybe I can drink a bottle of tequila and bump into some furniture before watching it and pretend like I was actually there! LOL (Brian - did you go to the gig? Can you verify that some of the audience members were a wee bit inebriated and cranky?) BTW, I got a kick out of Neil and Nick's blog entries from the tour bus. Looking forward to more Dolby tour blogs pretty soon. :) Can't believe we're almost in September. Where did August go?!?!? Melissa - -- "We all have ability. I wish I could've gone. I'm anxious to hear what really happened. On a COMPLETELY different side note, I just ran into Christian Bale (Batman) and Heath Ledger (the new Joker) here in Chicago. This is the ONE day I didn't have my real camera with me so I didn't get any good photos. I did take some with my camera phone so I have a nice blurry shot of Christian in a black leather jacket, and the back of Heath as he is talking to someone on the set of the new Batman movie. However, they are so blurry they aren't even worth posting. Living in Chicago does have its benefits. :) Cheers from Gotham City! Brian >From: Merujo >>(Brian - did you go to the gig? So cool. That puts a new spin on the roving minstrel concept. Unplug, negate war and cool down the planet. I like it. Can't wait to hear this album. On a sad note: I used to hear a bird that sang the same song each time I'd go outside which, if transcribed, would look like this: Bb Db Bb Ab F Ab F But he/she is gone. Does anyone know what it was?
