I also wish I could get to the London gig and see the wonderful Bruce Woolley - i have tracks by Bruce under various guises - RB Zipper, The Killers, Boogatti, Fallen Angel & The TC Band, Firmament & the Elements etc plus tracks by the wonderful Radio Science Orchestra to have seen both Thomas & Bruce the same evening would have been brill. oh well lets see Thomas first and maybe RSO another time. Any other Alloy heading to Manchester ???? Best wishes all - Paul. > From: Merujo > Date: 2007/07/17 Tue PM 07:37:47 BST > To: alloy@smoe.org > Subject: Alloy: Official UK dates up on TMDR's blog > > > The whole post is interesting - particularly regarding the ICA gig in > London (which I'd so love to attend!) I really feel badly for those who bought tickets (on good faith) from venues, only to see the dates shuffle around. In some instances, they won't have the ability to see the show on the "new" date. And will the venue offer entry on the new date, even if you show up? Yes, Lunesse is correct: the dates were not firm until posted on The Flat Earth. But can you blame fans who are more than eager to see Thomas after so many years. Or for the first time. cheers! There's enough lead time, too, for folks to be able to exchange tickets, if the venue deems it necessary to physically change 'em out for ones with the right dates. It's really hard - you hear tickets are on sale, and of course, you want to buy one immediately, to make sure you don't lose out on a sold-out gig. That's an eagerness that can't be denied, despite Dolby's best efforts to temper enthusiasm with warnings about possible changes. And it's always a bit of a crapshoot when you have to fly somewhere to attend a gig. Back at the beginning of all the touring, when James and I flew from DC (and our friend Mike flew from Minnesota) to see the West Hollywood House of Blues gig, we were all taking a chance. As we flew out to LA on the day of the gig, if one of our flights had been delayed or canceled, we would have been screwed. In the end, everything went splendidly (except for having to listen to that interminable Dramarama set) and we had such a great time. But considering the current state of (almost always delayed and mostly cranky) commercial aviation in this country, we were lucky. I feel for Jon with his changed work schedule and nonrefundable ticket from Finland. (Jon should trade it in for a ticket to the US in September to see one of the East Coast gigs!)
