Hi folks,

This article popped up on my daily Thomas Dolby Google Alert. I figured some
of y'all would find this new software Peter Gabriel & his cohorts have come
up with to be pretty cool. It reminds me of Pandora, but for your iPod:
http://contentagenda.com/articleXml/LN608929591.html?industryid=45179

If any of you have already tried the Filter, let us know how it is. I'm
pondering downloading it now...

Cheers,

Melissa

Subject: Alloy: Administrative note for Alloy members

Dear Alloy members:

On a daily basis, I am hit with spam that is generated through Alloy. Much
of what I get is notification of spam that has been caught by the great
filters set up by the resident Smoe.org god, Jeff Wasilko. (Hi, Jeff!) But
some of it isn't. And, after sending out a recent message to the Alloy
membership - but not via Alloy directly - I got smacked with a sea of spam
that I can now connect with some group members' addresses.

Everybody, PLEASE make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date and
you've checked your machine for spyware and other nasty stuff that can
affect you and others. My stuff is, fortunately, up-to-date, but we clearly
have some members with bugs at home.

If I see repeated spam or messages with harmful attachments being generated
with a member's address connected to it, I'll have to unsubscribe that
address from the list. So, if you find yourself suddenly, unceremoniously
unsubbed, take that as a sign that you've got a problem you need to fix.
You're welcome to rejoin the group *after* you fix your problems. With a
disease-free e-mail addy, please.

Not trying to be a hardass here, but I'm protecting myself and the rest of
the membership.

Thus endeth the spam rant.

Best,

Melissa, temporarily cranky list admin

Well gang, things have been very busy lately. I've bought an old
depression era barbershop which I have completely gutted and am in the
proccess of rebuilding. Not much time for internets I'm afraid.

I have one question. How do I change what e-mail address I'm using on
alloy again? ^_^ I forget how.

In other news. Here's a little footage of Thomas's old Casio in action
at one of our recent shows at the Absynth club here in Hamilton (you
should book a show there Thomas).

Poor audio quality I know, but not bad for a $70 digital camcorder.

Hey, Crackers!! Good to see you out here!

I've been watching the gutting of the new space on your website - I hope it goes splendidly. :)

Drop me a line with the e-mail addy you want used for Alloy, and I'll get you hooked up. (Same goes for anyone else who wants to switch addies or change subscription options between individual messages and the digest - I'll be happy to help out.)

And thanks for the YouTube-i-ness. Nice job.

Cheers,

Melissa

Just as a heads up - if your email client is getting junk (Mac or not), you
can send/spread it. Having a Mac just means your computer is less likely to
