So, has anyone purchased "From Brussels With Love"? I haven't yet, so I'm curious about the "proto-Airwaves" recording. I know some of you have already heard it on the earlier release of "Brussels." But, since I'm missing out, I figured I'd ask y'all for your opinion. Groovin' on the summer weather and cherry blossoms here in DC, Melissa http://merujo.blogspot.com - -- "We all have ability. Melissa, I haven't checked how expensive it is on CD but I bought the cassette back in the day. I love how raw the recording is, kind of tinny and the alternate lyrics are really cool. I half expected TMDR to use them on this tour. No real reason, just my own brand of craziness, I guess. I've loved it all this time and if Steve hadn't already transferred it to CD, I'd buy it. I have to say, however, that I wasn't impressed with anything else on the rest of the disc. I meant to ask - I finally paid more attention to the visuals on the final night of the tour (more about that in a later post) and noticed a compass rose during Flat Earth. Is that a nod to you? Ooooh, alternate lyrics on Airwaves? Cool! Eventually, I'll get to hear it. It's not going anywhere, though, so I've got time, eh? That's really cool that a compass rose showed up in the visuals! It's a great image to put up for Flat Earth. I think I can say with 101% certainty, it had no connection to me. :) I imagine it was just something from the creative mind of Johnny, the video guru. I lost my Compass Rose trade name with the State of Maryland - I still have my business cards and letterhead, but after my mom died, I just lost interest in my business (plus I had no customers. Zip. Zilch. Nada.) I suppose I could get it back if I ever wanted to try again - and no one else had taken on the name. I still own the domain names... Off to bed - long day today, even longer day tomorrow.
