He played "My Brain Is Like a Sieve" last night! Lucky Texas folks!! I hope it was complete with Ed Asner "Murder" sample. :) That's my "balcony" song - I remember wistfully swaying back and forth on balconies in a handful of funky cities (Kiev during a miners' strike, anyone?) pondering crushes gone down in flames, listening to "Sieve" over and over again. Sigh. Who would have thought it, a pile of years ago while we were here, debating the meaning of "heavy water from a stone" and playing with those GrooveGrams, that now we'd be waiting to hear about each "new" song he's added to his set list? Fortunate times, indeed, even when we can't be there in person to hear it all. Looking forward to reviews from the Lone Star contingent, Melissa http://merujo.blogspot.com - --------------------------------- Need Mail bonding? Go to the Yahoo! Adding the horns really added an extra layer of depth to an already amazing set. A quick review, but I'll leave details and setlist to others. I know they had an issue with some speakers last night, but it seemed they did get it worked out a few songs into the show. From my vantage point it sounded great, but I think others heard more speaker pops than I did. It wasn't Thomas' crew, but was the venue equipment that was having issues. Last night just hearing the horns intertwined with Sieve, Hyperactive, etc., was incredible. Hell, hearing Sieve was an amazing experience by itself. As for the "murder" sample, I was so lost in a trance I really didn't hear it, Melissa. If it happened I was too totally lost in the experience to remember it being played. I also LOVE the Sway additon to the set. It was fun, upbeat, and a nice touch to an already song filled set. I'd love to see him release it on a future album as I think he makes it his own. I'm still blown away by the whole show and am still decompressing. I met some awesome forum members last night, and it seemed a fun time was had by all. After only getting 5 hours of sleep and flying back home, my brain isn't at 100% so I'll wait until I'm firing on all cylinders to write a comprehensive review. If I had to rate the show on a scale of 1-10 (10 being best), I'd give it a 50. :) Cheers everyone!
