Just in case there were any lingering doubts as to how big a science geek I really am, I had a moment of hesitation this morning when I was listening to the San Francisco NPR station and found out there's going to be a lecture by E. O. Wilson broadcasted tonight. I thought, damn, I'm going to be at the TMDR show! Hopefully I can catch a podcast. I figured you guys would understand... Science rules! He flies back to Germany on the 7th. I keep telling him he really should take a "leisurely drive" up to Austin for the gig. :-) My friend James ordered up autographed copies of the CD and DVD for both of us and our friend Mike - we went to four gigs together in the spring: LA/HOB, 2x Annapolis, and the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. Mike is flying out for 48 hours to join us for the Baltimore gig. Unfortunately, all of us are leaving town for Xmas the day TMDR plays the Birchmere again. If I could change my plane ticket, I would. Alas, it is not meant to be!! Looking forward to hearing reports from Red Devil after tonight. I'm very curious about TMDR's musicial guests, as alluded to on his blog... mysterious, mysterous... Small world, and flat, or course. Did I ever say that I hate moving so much? Regardless, I'm going to Dallas for Thanksgiving. Then we're going to 'maybe' make the show in Austin. I guess it depends on if there are any new songs to hear. I'll be hoping for one of Mary's stellar reports. Hmmm Sir Thomas? New songs for a needy planet? Then we fly to Bangkok on the 9th. But, I'll be sure have my DVD with me! P.S.: Referencing an earlier post: Can't believe House is Bertie Wooster! What a great actor.
