Last night's gig at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia was incredibly energetic and loaded with great little elements added to stories between songs - just a wonderful night. As the "purple stamp" system was out for the weekend (the venues had their own selling space, so Lunesse didn't have to do it), there had to be a hundred or more people lined up to meet TMDR last night. My friends and I left around 11:25, and there were still twenty or so folks in line. We wanted to say farewell to Lunesse and TMDR, but they had their hands very, very full, so we departed. I know this will sound really silly to some, but this weekend was the highlight of my year. Things have been tough, one of my brothers is dying, I got hit by a car recently which has left me hobbling around with a cane, and I'm staring bankruptcy in the face after my long, long round with unemployment last year. And this, I tell you with all sincerity, was such a bright, fun gem in the midst of it all - like Christmas and a great birthday all wrapped up in one. For three nights, I sat rapt in the music, a big smile on my face, with some of my dearest friends at my side, and felt like all was well in the world. Yeah, like I said, that likely sounded silly, but it's true. I hope that all of you yet to see one of the gigs have a similarly great experience. Honestly, you can't help but have a good time. The mood is positively infectious. TMDR is not only a talented and gifted man, he's also a genuinely nice human being. Have a great time, folks! Not only is legally embroiled song Americabs Most Hated back on the player, but the pictures of Kevin sipping bubbly have been replaced with photos of a more sober bartistb sipping cola. Welcome back K-fed. Donbt ever scare us like that again!!!" legally embroiled? Did Thomas actually sue over this or are they just "bigging-up" the "furore"? Is Dolby now "the man" trying to oppress K-Fed: the hero of modern music? I bet he makes another song dissing "has been" artists from the 1980s trying to oppress his creatvity. What do you want to bet no-one will know who Kevin Federline is five years from now? I wouldn't even have heard of him if he hadn't been brought up on Dolbys blog. I'd be more than happy to forget about him now. - -- Peter ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 May 2006 10:15:18 -0600 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: RE: Alloy: What a great weekend Melissa, I'm so glad you got to have such a great weekend without any of that pesky Dramarama getting in the way. Perhaps such a good weekend will be the turning point where a bunch of good things will come your way now. I don't think it is silly that it was the highlight of your year.
