It's a nice way > to hear new things. Well, this a new way of radio-listening to me!? Thanks for a very enjoyable waste of more than an hour of surprising listening. There's just too much out there. ;) I started of with last.fm and I stubled across "The Ceasars - Jerk It Out" in the up-tempo region, and to "Phuturistix - Sweet Journey" in my easy-listening zone... Though navigation is hard for me. And my WinAmp is crashing the last-fm-player when I switch to my 'own music'... I think I was the second to join the alloy-group-station. But after two numbers it "ran out of content"... Didn't know how to add any. Peter? It has this "mechanic feeling", for me though. With no real person introducing or telling some strange tid-bits around and about the music. If you like that and an eclectic mix of music, I can recommend The Album Zone by my favourite radio-dj Johnny Reece. He's one of 10 presenters, with some very 'free-form' radio. More info at: http://www.live365.com/stations/albumzone2001 Via www.rti.fm Reecey's show is streaming on Wednesdayevenings, 22-24 GMT I think... Tara, Anton. - -- Happy listening... and soon: viewing too of course. :-) Oh, I sure hope that my sons will soon be old enough to explain all this to me. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Feb 2006 21:07:01 -0600 From: "Kara R. Laidlaw" Subject: Alloy: More to love about Thomas' music! :^) Hey, all! :^) I've discovered, much to my surprise and pleasure, that Thomas' songs will soothe a migraine away--at least they do for me. Has anyone else ever tried this?! Low volume, of course, my usual low lighting, and Bob's yer uncle. ;^) I was listening to "The Gate to the Mind's Eye", and by the time I heard "Valley of the Mind's Eye", sighing over its romance and beauty as usual, I had entirely forgotten that I'd had head pain! :^) Love and musical magic, Kara ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Feb 2006 23:07:16 -0600 From: "Kara R. Laidlaw" Subject: Alloy: Could I really have seen what I think I saw back then?!? Hello again...I promise, I'll shut up after this, but I'm just curious about one thing... Okay, this may be a really stupid question, but was there a video for "Cloudburst At Shingle Street"? I could almost swear there was, because way back in, uh, 1982 or so I guess, I had seen Kate Bush's video for "Cloudbusting" (that *is* the name of a Kate Bush song, isn't it? I'm pulling this purely out of my memory, here), and then later on I saw the beginning of what I thought would be "Cloudbusting" again, but I would almost swear it was "Cloudburst At Shingle Street" that I saw written on the TV screen. I think I thought, "New Thomas Dolby??!? COOL!!!" I'd already seen "She Blinded Me With Science" by then. Strangely similar song titles, though...that's what makes me think I dreamed it or something. Oh well. Just wondering if my brain has begun to make stuff up on me! Drat, it's always been so reliable up until now! ;^) Love and chronic chaos, Kara It's All About the Music. :^) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Feb 2006 23:24:42 -0600 From: "Kara R. But the way they describe her video is exactly the way I remembered it, so that memory, at least, is in one piece. ;^) I never really got into Kate Bush for some reason, don't know why. Gah, I'm sick of me, and probably so are lots of you lovely ladies and gentlemen, so I'm going to try lurking for a while. I will *try*, but I can't promise anything! ;^) Love and Alloy addiction, Kara - --------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V11 #39 ***************************
