I'm really excited about seeing the English Beat, too. (Of course, not as excited as I am about seeing the English Guy...) I sat in my car last night after work, trying to think that through, and I couldn't decide. I told a friend yesterday evening that Thomas Dolby is the only musician whose entire catalogue is in my head. And, as far as I can think, no matter what he plays, there couldn't possibly be a misstep for me. So many songs carry so many meanings, remind me of so many events. Flying North has a special place in my heart, and I still whisper the opening lines every single time I get on a plane. I would love to hear it. But man, I can't decide. As I'm sure that you fine people will be posting reviews and such for tonight's gig. (How could you not?!?) Could you put "SPOILER" or "SHOW REVIEW" somewhere in the title of your post? I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I want to be totally surprised next Friday night. (And, after that night, I will delightedly read your reviews and compare set lists...) All bask in the glory of the Dolby AZ-1. http://forums.comicgenesis.com/viewtopic.php?t=70984 We had a great show. Carole Pope rocked too. Robin perused her archives and a nice fellow named Keith in Canada found some of what I hoped to find and sent it. I joined Alloy then drawn by a love of the music that unites us. I am getting both sentimental and excited about what is happening now and can only guess that it's the love of you wonderful people of alloy who in some sort of encouraging way helped bring about the renaissance of our favorite Muse. Thank you for everything you've done. (Sorry, I'm gushing now.) I have an innate propensity for making a fool of myself in public. And to Mr. Dolby. We are in your debt. Applause! Lots of it! Encore! Flowers! Hoozahs! Airborne Lingerie! (I guess you'll have to get used to these things again.) Break a legato!
