We called those tunes (at the time) SYNTH-POP DISCO... to make a diffrence between the techno-pop groups and other disco sounds which we more HI-NRG oriented like, for instance, NEW ORDER's BLUE MONDAY, PERFECT KISS or BIZARRE LOVE TRIANGLE or THE PET SHOP BOYS's TONIGHT IS FOREVER or WEST END GIRLS. Some of these songs came out in 1986, but their "style" was around since the early 80's. But the term HI-NRG didn't exist in the beginning of the 80's.. There was another Dolby DISCO track called BUILD ME A BRIDGE, although I don't remember hearing it at a club. I just know it because I am a Dolby collector. One of my all time club favourites is the LONDON MIX of FIELD WORK. What a fantastic tune!! And the drum track?? It is great!!! The partnership Sakamoto & Dolby should have been more explored. ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V10 #98 ***************************
