It's been fun to watch but sad at times seeing how time has not been kind to some of the stars from the '80's. This week featured Howard Jones among the performers and he is actually leading the internet polling as the favorite performer of the week. I know, Mr. Dolby would never consider participating in something like this but we can dream, can't we? On a related note I went to see Kraftwerk at the 9:30 Club in D.C. a few weeks back and must admit it was one of the most memorable live performances I have ever attended. The only time the group addressed the audience was to say "Good night-we'll see you tomorrow" and they never broke character throughout the show. When they did their hit "The Robots" they had been replaced on stage by 4 mechanical look-a-likes moving in time with the music. Kind of makes you redefine what "live" music is! I had this mental picture of them chuckling behind the stage watching the audience cheer on their machine doppelgangers while they counted the receipts from the show. It was a lot of fun and a rare chance to see the kings of techno pop play in the U.S. Still anxiously awaiting the shows Thomas will be participating in next January, Mike ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V10 #41 ***************************
