Hey all..
I've been quickly going through the latest rash of E-mails and I am also
quite thrilled to have the chance to see Thomas play here in my current home
town!
I would be more than happy to help purchase the tickets for people..
however.. as of Sunday I am leaving on a 4 month trip to Thailand to shoot a
feature film in Bangkok. So I may not be back here in LA until the end of
August.
( I plan to take a vacation there once the job is over.. and look for a
retirement location!)
So.. unfortunately I won't be able to go over and buy the tickets since I'm
buried in preparations for this long trip. There are a couple other
Alloyites
living here in LA.. perhaps they may be able to help? Sorry!!

I was going to post along these lines earlier but got called away for the
afternoon. I'd be happy, in fact I'm planning to call HoB and get
information about group sales, local hotels, anything needed. Same thing
goes for Vegas. It's only about a 4 hour drive. I'll get it on it -- I
plan to be here all year -- I live about 1/4 the way between L.A. & Vegas
(on the L.A. side), and I will do whatever I can to help!

I can't find data on Las Vegas for Thomas, but Wakeling is set to appear
9/24/05, location TBA. If it ends up being House of Blues Las Vegas, the
venue is located at Mandalay Bay Resort/Casino, so that makes everything
easy.
Now for some specifics from HoB Sunset Strip (I just got off the phone). A
very nice young lady named Courtney told me that we know more than she
does, as the 1/28/06 date is too far in advance for her book.
Consequently, she had no information on pricing (and the tickets are not
currently available). She was, however, excited personally at the
prospect of having The English Beat w/Thomas Dolby play next January. :)
Anyway, they don't do group sales and it's all general admission. There
is a special program called "Pass the Line" where a group has dinner in
their restaurant, then goes to the head of the line before doors open.. so
that would be a great idea if it's offered for this concert. She gave me
the following options for nearby hotels: the Hyatt, Grafton, Best
Western, Standard, Mandrian (w/Skybar), and the Argyle are all within
walking distance.
HoB Anaheim is located at Downtown Disney, which is adjacent to Disneyland
park proper. Anaheim and West Hollywood are about 45 minutes apart by
car, without traffic. People can caravan between the two venues but it
would be better to just move, I think. A taxi would be expensive. I'll
look into the hotel situation. I can get Disneyland ticket information as
well.
So, all we can do is get a count and find out when the tickets go on
sale..which I will do happily. I have joined HoB's mailing list. To
purchase tickets, there is a six-ticket maximum per person, directly at
HoB's box office (saving service fees of $5-10 per ticket in some cases),
so we'll need several people if we want to buy a bunch on opening day.
Robin, is there anyone associated with Mr. Wakeling or Thomas's management
who would be willing to tell us when these tickets will go on sale?

Hey Elaine..
Put me down for 2 tickets for Hollywood HoB please!! I may be back in time
to buy them myself.. but if not it would be great to know you can do it!
It would be great to have an Alloy evening here in LA! I rarely know my
schedule from one week to the next..let along a year away. But I'll attempt to
be here.. and if I have to I can always let the tickets go to some other Alloy
person at that time.
So.. I leave tomorrow for 5 or so months in Thailand.. but I'll be
getting E-mail.. and I can get you a payment when ever necessary. Gotta run..
