Hello all..

I've been much the lurker as of late..  quite busy this year with work all 
over.  However.. on the 23rd of December I left Los Angeles.. headed for South 
East Asia to explore.  I'm currently in Bangkok enjoying the incredible 
hospitality of the Thai people.  

The tsunami tragedy has created daily headlines with more and more sadness.. 
though life in Bangkok.. nearly 1000 miles away from the islands.. seems to 
have nearly the same bustling energy as before the disaster.  

I'd just like to offer my best wishes to everyone at Alloy for a Happy New 
Year.. and if you do want to contribute to the relief effort I know that 
anything you can do will help.

However.. I was watching the news and it seems that the best way to help is 
to just give money to the relief organizations instead of donating goods and 
clothing.  These organizations can wire transfer the money faster and cheaper to 
the places that need the help.. where the items needed are purchased locally.

I've just been searching for some way to help the survivors of this week's 
terrible tsunami, which I know we are all reading about with increasing feelings 
of heartbreak.  They are in a very dire situation, and now the threat of 
infectious disease looms over them, to claim even more precious lives.
