I remember a news release a while back that the Live Aid people were going to auction off the rights to put it out due to bootleg DVDs starting to circulate. I was worried and actual release would be a long time away though. Good to see Warner picked it up and will be putting it out. I hope it is comprehensive and showcases every act that played from start to finish on both sides of the Atlantic that day. Like most people, I only saw bits and pieces of it that day. I watched it at my friend's house who had a BIG satellite dish. We didn't have MTV on our cable system at home, so I was glad to be able to see some of it. It will be nice to go back and see the acts I missed in DVD quality video and sound. The Internet Movie Database has an entry for it with a listing of who appeared: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261024/ It appears to be missing Mr. Dolby - didn't he back up Bowie on that show? - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steffen Camps" To: Sent: Friday, July 16, 2004 3:50 AM Subject: Alloy: Live Aid on Dvd > > Live is being released soon on dvd! > > See: http://www.undercover.com.au/news/2004/july2004/20040716_liveaid.html > > Hope that makes a few people happy. > > Steffen ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 2004 19:10:02 -0400 From: Russell Milliner Subject: Re: Alloy: Live Aid on Dvd Thomas wasnt considered a headline act. It was basically a "surprise" performance of Thomas backing Bowie on Heros. As for Thomas and HoJo, there is an old article from Keyboard magazine about the Grammy performance on my website under the Articles section. There is also a picture of the four of them there. - -Russ http://www.tmdrfan.com/ Keith Stansell wrote: >Very cool.
