Others of you may have done business or had dealings with me on eBay, The Teaching Toybox. or Created From Memories. Still more of you I can't place, but all of you were in my address book for one reason or another. I am writing to tell you that my computer was infected with the MyDoom worm. This nasty little worm looks for emails and sends out messages to what it finds. Therefore any of you may have received an infected email from me. Please do not assume that you are safe because you never open attachments. I don't either, but still got the worm. My guess is that one of my Little Ones was playing with the computer keyboard and opened an attachment. I strongly suggest that you 1)update your virus software so it can detect this worm, and 2)run a virus scan on your computer. Hopefully you are not infected. But, if you are, removing this worm is time consuming, but possible. I'm including some links that I found useful: http://www.pchell.com/virus/mydoom.shtml http://www.pcmag.com/print_article/0,3048,a=117496,00.asp http://abcnews.go.com/sections/scitech/ZDM/mydoom_removal_pcmag_040127.html Sincerely, Rochelle Kirby ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jan 2004 14:43:55 -0700 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: Re: Alloy: MyDoom Worm Warning Also a reminder to everyone - usually these worms spoof the sender's email address, so the email worm may have come from Rochelle's computer, but appear to be from any email address on her computer - perhaps yours or mine. It's also possible that Rochelle wasn't infected, but someone she knows is and their computer sent out the worm with Rochelle's email address. Either way - be careful out there. I did get an email the other day with a suspicious attachment, deleted it - no harm done. I don't remember who it was from - someone I didn't know. - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rochelle Kirby" To: Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 2:11 PM Subject: Alloy: MyDoom Worm Warning > > Hello, > > Some of you are friends and family and know who I am.
