Did it sell by the bucketload? Would you bother any more?! We can only hope he does it for the personal satisfaction, and for the reasonable income he could generate by selling direct in the digital age (cutting out the middleman). Would you bother any more?! I'd like to think so. If TMDR is in it to shift units then I'll feel like I've been someaht gullible over the years for mistaking him for an 'artist'. > We can only hope he does it for the personal satisfaction, > and for the reasonable income he could generate by selling > direct in the digital age (cutting out the middleman). Something more artists should be doing. I think the reason we don't hear anymore music from Thomas is because he probably thinks we'd be dissapointed. I want ot hear more from him because i'm tired of the overproduced pretentious crap that's being shoveled on the public on a regular basis. Nothing he does music will sell well without some miracle as Thomas isn't a promiscuous teenage girl or a gangsta and that's all that shifts units these days. I just want him to make music because he wants to and became I'm sick to death of the above. - -- Peter ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jan 2004 15:51:09 -0000 From: "p.latham2" Subject: Alloy: West Coast venues for UK Folk singer ????? Hi all, I know this isnt Thomas related but another artist I have many recordings by - -(how dare I )- Robb Johnson is considering doign some very small venues on the West Coast in the US in 2005 - nothing definite but the guy who runs his website was looking for possible venues - I know many alloy members are musicians themselves & wondered if any had any poss ideas. Basically Robb Johnson is a folk / political singer - especially anti -war songs -who can be outspoken but can also be very funny - his albums always receive great reviews & they are many in number - at a rough guess I must have at least 18 (yes eighteen) albums & im missing 2 of them - plus note he was a part time teacher for most of the time. If anybody knows of any poss. venues please let me know -- plus if anyone is interested check out his website robb johnson or irregular records in the UK. Cheers . Hi all - just jumped out of lurk mode to share this with the musician types on the list. A friend just sent me this link and when I viewed the video clip I was completely blown away. Well worth the download. I have not seen this degree of editing, mixing, and interaction before in a physical interface - if I could only get one. Crackers - you would be completely frightening with this at your disposal! Thomas would be omnipotent and all-knowing! (I mean to say, even more so than usual...)
