Hey Wargun, I haven't seen the auction on the Mac Quadra, but don't count on anything being usable on any newer computer. I have a Quadra 630 sitting on my shelf, collecting dust, someday it will be a "learning game" machine for my 18-month old! the Quadra I believe ran hardware cards of the "Nubus" variety, which is the functional equivalent of Betamax tapes in your VHS VCR. All the modern computers need PCI cards and won't take Nubus. So if there are any hardware card synths or effects in this Quadra, that's where they will stay. Like the rest of you computer owners, I bemoan the fact that I paid $1500 for my Quadra in 1987? and now I couldn't sell it for $20. Who says technology makes you smart? cheers, - -Tom <<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>> raise the I.Q. of your houseplants! http://www.emeraldsoul.com > From: Wargun2438@aol.com > Subject: Alloy: Re: alloy-digest V8 #208 > > Say, what's the skinny on the MAC Quadra? I'd completely forgotten about NuBus. It all comes back to me now.
