Anyone know what it would have on/in it? Besides the obvious delight for us on here, there may someday be a collector's niche for Computers Of Celebrities. Having to pick up the item in San Francisco is somewhat difficult (though I will be there mid-January), but can you imagine the shipping charges?? - -wargun ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Dec 2003 14:57:28 -0500 From: "Crackers" Subject: Re: Alloy: Re: alloy-digest V8 #208 - ----- Original Message ----- From: > Say, what's the skinny on the MAC Quadra? The Mac Quadra's not too bad a deal really. There's a lot of nice hardware inside that machine that while 13 years old could still be transplanted into a modern machine and put to use I think. I had thought that auction had ended with the other flightcase auctions but appearently it's still going on as well as the newer of the two flight cases. As far as flight cases go, if my AZ-1 is any example Thomas sure doesn't scrimp on the flight cases. The flight case that came with my AZ-1 is possibly one of the most sturdy keyboard flight cases I've ever seen. Although I'm not going to put it to the test I would reason that I could put my AZ-1 inside it and run the case over with your average sized automobile and cause no damage to the AZ-1 and only cosmetic damage to the case itself. If the large flightcases Thomas auctioned are of the same make then they should be sturdy enough to withstand the sex play of your average alloyite (although video proof may be required). Yep definetly geuine flight cases and not mearly hard-shelled cases that look like flight cases that I see most keyboardists cart their stuff to their gigs in.
