I love the pic of Thomas as the teacher, though he does look absolutely sinister! So now that we know that Crackers probably won't be getting a christmas present for the next 2 or 3 years ;) I am wondering what everyone elses Christmas wish is (in a Dolby related note). Who amongst us are the die-hard collectors and what kinds of things would make your collections complete? For Me, I want all of Thomas' studio albums on Vinyl. So far I just have the Flat Earth. So I have a hefty christmas wish list ;) I hope that all of you aren't getting too stressed out over the holidays and have a great time with your families and friends. Back to lurking again... The one with Wreck of the Fairchild, but with out SBMWS, Submarines, Urges or Leipzig. Other than collecting versions from different countries, this is one of the items missing from my collection. Other items would be: - - a copy of the grammy show with TMDR, Howard Jones, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock - - the Aliens Ate My Buick promotional car that once came up on eBay - - the videos and live wireless to be released on DVD - - even the original album remastered (maybe a boxed set?) I am sure there are others on here who would also love many of the above items! - -Russ Ian Gifford wrote: > > Congrats Crackers, > > I am envious! Well I bought some Goo Gone today and it really does a nice job of cleaning up the scuff marks and the gooey bits, unfortunately it doesn't work on the hardened, dried on tape residue. I'll have to fins some way to soften it up first. I', thinking I might be able to gently scrap it off. For the missing knobbie I just bought a ring screw and screwed it in, then I bought some aluminum clips for the ends of my strap and clipped on to the ring screw and the other to the d-ring. Bought some batteries today and I also bought some parts to make a custom MIDI/Power cable. The power will be carried along in the same cable as the MIDI data. On one end will be a male MIDI cable and a female power cable. On the other end will be a male power cable and a male MIDI cable. Male power cable and MIDI end plugs into the power and MIDI ports on the AZ-1, the power supply plugs into the female port on the other end and the synth I'm controlling goes on the other MIDI end. I'll be able to power it without batteries onstage and still have only one cable running to the AZ-1. So today I was playing it strapped on. Hopefully I'll get a little sun this weekend and I'll be able to take some pictures of me and the AZ-1 cuddling. I do have one problem, the silver paint from the pen Thomas signed the keyboard with is just not sticking to it at all. Anytime I accidently touch where it's autographed the paint smudges. It would seem the autograph is going to be very transitory if I don't figure out a way to protect it. Anyone have any ideas. I'm almost thinking of perhaps masking the area off and then giving it a few coats of varnish to protect it. But since the silver paint isn't sticking I don't know if the varnish will stick that well without a primer and, of course, I can't put a primer on without covering the autograph. Is there some sort of clear plastic laminate I could cut to the right shape and put overtop the autograph? THIS JUST IN: Holy freaking crap! I thought that my AZ-1 was going to be the Dolby item that ended up selling for the most over market value as a Dolby collectable but it would seem I was WAY off. The Roland D-50 ended up selling for NINE HUNDRED AND TEN DOLLARS!!! Way to go Thomas! That's over $530 above market value for a D-50 earned by your autograph! Wow! I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a Christmas present for a Dolby fan (maybe even someone on Alloy, who knows). Man, that's impressive. I guess we won't be seeing anymore picture of Thomas with his trademarked cabbie cap on anymore because they're just not going to make them big enough for that head now. ~_^ There's only one day left on the PG1000 programmer for the D-50 and it's still got no bids at $99. If it was someone on the list who bought the D-50 I'd recommend snapping up the PG1000. You've already put down over $900 on the synth, might as well put down another hundred at this point to make it much, much, much more usable. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2578709924&category=38071&rd=1 Man! $910 for a D-50. All I can say is if it was someone on the list THANK YOU for not going against me on the AZ-1. Thank you thank you thank you! Thank you!
