I saw them live with the Blue Man Group this weekend and was totally blown away -- it's a pitch-perfect, beautiful woman and two absolutely crazy synth-geeks in silver suits. I looked at their web page and they cite TMDR prominently as an influence, so it's not completely OT :) If you get the chance to see them, definitely go! The Blue Man Group was also really entertaining, as always. Venus Hum also has a new CD out, Big Beautiful Sky, which is good but doesn't capture their live intensity and makes the singer sound more like Bjork than she does live. Actually, she came out to sing with the BMG once and they put her voice thru an oscilloscope - it was astonishing to see these perfect sine waves come out of her mouth. I saw Blue Man when I went to Chicago last year, but Venus Hum wasn't even *around* then. We have her CD, and it's wonderful. Wish I had the $$ to go to one of those shows... Andrea.
