Plus being a globally known band who tour a lot I'd see them leaving many Russian traditions behind, which being young they may have left behind anyway. Plus the 'whore' thing is part of their act. It might be uncommon in Russian but here in the UK it's hard to escape in the music industry. I don't know if this is true, but it was reported in at least one UK newspaper that they weren't gay, that one or both of them had a boyfriend back home, and the 'lesbian thing' was just a marketing ploy to get them plenty of attention. Wearing T shirts with obscenities in Russian is another example, as is getting bored, yawning and walking off a chat show mid-interview (see http://www.ananova.com/entertainment/story/sm_795338.html for more info). I think they're just a couple of opportunists who're being manipulated by their record company, as so often happens, and they're making the most of it while they can. They'll probably be just a memory in 12 months. Did anyone see them on the Eurovision Song Contest? I heard that they were pretty appalling, but I didn't see it myself. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're of the "Lesbian-lite" variety just like a million web-cam girls out there and chatroom attention-whores. But hey, girls in wet t-shirts kissing, I'll take a front row seat. From the pictures I've seen of them playing lesbian it seems the red-head is far more into the act than the brunette who is actually almost cringing in some pics. This today's chart topping uber-tart is tomorrow's drunken bitter trailer park dweller.
