He's given me his permission to forward his question to Alloy: "The question: do you know the name or composer of a dub / reggae track which samples the strings and synths from t.d.'s 'she blinded me with science'? I've been looking for it for ages, going into reggae shops with my copy of S.B.M.W.S. and playing it to them , and noone has any idea at all." When I asked him for more information he further explained: "I first heard the track on a london dub radio station about four years ago. I have since heard it on a mix tape which predates that broadcast, and in a club playing reggae. My brother says it's by King Tubby. My natural instinct is to mistrust this, but I concede that it could be King Tubby or Scientist who produced it because of the sound. The song samples the strings out of She Blinded Me With Science, and sections of the synths as well, including the crescendo at the beginning and in the breaks. I don't know if this description is much use, but any assistance you could give me trying to track this down would be very much appreciated! thankyou so much, I hope someone out there knows the answer!" I promised Ed I'd contact him with any responses to this. Can someone lend their expert knowledge and help him out? My thanks in advance! xx ~r ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Mar 2003 18:30:38 -0500 From: Russell Milliner Subject: Re: Alloy: question from a music fan No ideas here. - -Russ Robin Thurlow wrote: >I've just received an email from a very nice person called Ed, but I >couldn't answer his question, so I''m hoping one of our many experts here >will know the answer.
