Of course I get throb, nob and loin (and don't forget RUIN!!) If this guitar thing becomes an addiction & I should take up music as a thing to focus on, "Nob Whirl Tour" will have to be the name of my initial meanderings. (most people in the states aren't overly familiar with the term 'nob' for, well, a nob) Must feed more names into the evil alias generator... ~robin Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Someone is selling on eBay what they claim is a Thomas Dolby - The Golden Age of Video DVD? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3307788357&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1 Can anyone out there validate that this product has EVER EXISTED? I have the VHS and Laserdisc of this, and from the picture on eBay it is impossible to verifiy that it truely is a DVD. - -Russell http://www.tmdrfan.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Jan 2003 17:39:34 -0700 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: Re: Alloy: Golden Age of Video DVD? I suspect is a bootleg. Probably someone made a copy of the laserdisc version. I got a laugh out of his claim (48khz - better than CD quality audio) being as it was likely copied from a laserdisc (cd quality audio) not to mention the audio on several of the laserdisc tracks are in mono. It would even be pretty easy to make a DVD cover that looked legitimate. I asked the seller who released the DVD - waiting for a reply. If it were released on DVD, we would likely see it listed here: http://www.pioneer-ent.com/pea/dvd-music-pioneer-artists.html Looking at some of the titles Pioneer is releasing (most look like re-releases of their laserdisc titles) I think we have hope that it will be eventually released on DVD. If so, it would be nice if they combined it with Live Wireless. Perhaps we should start a writing campaign to Pioneer Artists asking for this. - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Russell Milliner" To: Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2003 4:43 PM Subject: Alloy: Golden Age of Video DVD? > > Someone is selling on eBay what they claim is a Thomas Dolby - The > Golden Age of Video DVD? > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3307788357&ssPageName=ADM E:B:SS:US:1 > > Can anyone out there validate that this product has EVER EXISTED? That was pretty much what I figured, especially after I sent the message to alloy I checked out some of his previous auctions. They all look like they are probably laserdiscs bootlegged to DVDs. If I had a DVD recorder, I'd probably do this with the laserdiscs I have. It would be nice if Pioneer released the stuff on DVD, maybe with some extra cutting room floor footage if it still exists? - -Russ Keith Stansell wrote: >I suspect is a bootleg.
