"The 'Electroclash' movement is one that began surfacing in the late 90s all over the world, but particularly in New York City. The artists, whose approach to music is purely modern, have a strong interest in the retro sounds of 80s New Wave, Synth and Electro Pop, and combine the two to make a purely new form of music." Thomas, jump in and lead the way! oh yes, please do. i just got an album of super-early human league demo recordings (1977-1979) and it's amazing how this ultra-primitive style (three or four synths sounds and minimal vocals) has come back in such a big way. one of the major electroclash bands, Adult., sounds eerily similar. i just heard a track from Fischerspooner in last week's CSI so i guess it is becoming pretty mainstream already. or maybe their music editor is just hip. :) - -jsd- ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V7 #239 ***************************
