I came to work today specifically to wish Thomas a Happy Birthday!!! Thomas, I hope your day is a beautiful, safe and happy one. I know we would all love to hear the latest of what you've been up to creatively these days, if you have a moment someday soon (and it wouldnt' spill the beans too much) Love and thanks to you always, and hoping your birthday is spent happily relaxing with those you love. xx ~Robin ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 14:32:07 -0700 (PDT) From: Brian Clayton Subject: Re: Alloy: Happy Birthday to... Dolby...Dolby...hmmm, I was just thinking of that guy.... :) Last night I saw the Philip Glass Ensemble perform the score to Godfrey Reggio's film "Koyaanisqatsi" live at Davies Hall. It was extremely cool to watch this film on the big screen with the musicians right in front of us! (If you get a chance, see this show--there are still a few more dates to play, check www.philipglass.com for details.) It had been quite a while since I had seen "Koyaanisqatsi", so I had forgotten that toward the end there is a video montage which contains (at least) two shots of Thomas from the SBMWS video, each shot lasting only a frame or two. I wondered if this factoid had found its way into the Internet Movie Database, and discovered that it had not. So as my birthday gift to Thomas, I've sent in an update to IMDB.com to include "Koyaanisqatsi" in his official filmography. :) Happy Birthday, Thomas! I have never seen the first two installments of that film series, because I find Glass' score too much like listening to a faucet drip. But only yesterday, I heard the film series' director talking about the newest release, with Glass' new score featured in the background.. and I really like this one. I think it appeals to me more because it's more richly orchestral. That, and the fact that there are more than two notes in it. Ooops, sorry. I want to see it, and now even more so because you saw Thomas in it!! Is Thomas in any of the others? xx ~Robin ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 22:12:05 -0700 From: "Crackers" Subject: Re: Alloy: Happy Birthday to... Just got in from Port Rowan with just enough time to spare to wish Thomas a "Happy Birthday". Happy Birthday. You're not a year older, you're just a year closer to becoming one of those crazy old mad scientists. Crackers (Birthday greetings from hell!!)
