Some of you are Iron Chef fans too, so all the more reason. Sorry if it's been posted before. Ryuichi Sakamoto, commenting on Iron Chef Michiba's "Stewed shark fin, Abalone, and Rice": "If I may compare this with music. Average-level composers will try to avoid placing two or more strong elements in one place so that they don't offset each other. This is the work of a genius. Now. In my music, for example, I sometimes combine Japanese elements with European, African, or even Latin American elements in one pot, and then blend them all together. Umm, I guess I'm a genius, too." So there you have it! Straight from the man himself. And this too echoes morsels of our own individual feelings about TMDR. ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V7 #208 ***************************
