By the way I think that album is so perfect!!! Thomas may be well remembered by the big public for his Wireless album, or maybe as he once said for The Flat Earth ("which was supposed to be his finest moment"). But I think Astronauts is such a mature album.... it contains many of my favourite Thomas songs. In fact, my all time favourites are there: 1 I LOVE YOU GOODBYE 2 I LIVE IN A SUITCASE 3 THE BEAUTY OF A DREAM 4 NEON SISTERS (This one sends shivers down my spine whenever I listen to Thomas shouting about stucking the dirty needle in the vein... or even the opening statement: "this song is for a friend cause I never had the chance to tell him". I relate to it very much for I have a very close relative who is hiv+.... thank God he is alive and well, but he already had very serious health problems because of aids) I have no doubt that ASTRONAUTS is one of the best 90's albums. I would pick up the best as: 1 - ASTRONAUTS & HERETICS thomas dolby 1992 2 - JORDAN THE COMEBACK prefab sprout 1990 3 - SOMEWHERE DEEP IN THE NIGHT swing out sister 2001 (this shouldn't count because of date release but it is so beautiful) 4 - GET IN TOUCH WITH YOURSELF swing out sister 1992 5 - THE GATE TO THE MIND EYE thomas dolby 1994 6 - ANDROMEDA HEIGHTS prefab sprout 1999 - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Keith Stansell" To: Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 1:03 PM Subject: Re: Alloy: Best cover> Yeah, those thunderstorms can roll in pretty quick down in Louisiana. I didn't even know that there was a video out of it... I should have noticed there was, since that song is a single. I have never seen it. The only videos I've seen are those on the VHS "THE GOLDEN AGE OF VIDEO" and "THE GATE TO THE MIND'S EYE". So Thomas on the swamp and the burning piano pictures are in fact a scene from the video ??! I'd love to see that! Thanks Paulo - ----- Original Message ----- From: "p.latham2" To: Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 3:31 PM Subject: Re: Alloy: Best cover > Hi Paulo, > You picked a good one here I must agree - cant remember exactly but didnt > the piano catch fire by accident on the video - or get out of hand more than > it should or something - i vaguely remember hearing this when the video was > shown. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2002 17:45:19 +0100 From: "p.latham2" Subject: Re: Alloy: LOVE YOU GOODBYE VIDEO Hi paulo, Yes its been said before but its about time 'THE GOLDEN AGE OF VIDEO' was rereleased to include Silk Pyjamas, Close but no Cigar & I Love you goodbye'.
